The concept of dance studio redefined
Rabaterapia is a dance studio located in Montreal, dedicated to promoting Brazilian culture and providing a community space for immigrants and dance enthusiasts.
Our mission is to continue offering a safe space that not only enhances the physical and mental well-being of our members through dance, but also fosters deep connections, friendships and a large network of support. We provide local people with the opportunity to immerse themselves in Brazilian culture, broadening their understanding and appreciation of Latin immigrants.
Founded in 2022, Rabaterapia quickly gained space and relevance among its participants and supporters. Our project was the first enterprise created by and for the Brazilian community of Montreal, which is why our marketing and communications, along with our classes and events, are conducted in French, English and Portuguese. This multilingual approach not only helps Brazilian immigrants to reconnect with their roots, but also allows local residents to dive into the rich and diverse culture of Brazil.

BEHIND THE SCENE
Two friends, one dream
Priscila Sanches and Guilherme Sperb, both raised in the favelas of Brazil, were the first in their families to learn a foreign language and graduate from university. Their journey led them to Canada, where they faced the many challenges of adapting to a new country—navigating language barriers and embracing cultural differences. These shared experiences became the foundation for Rabaterapia, a project created to fulfill a growing need for community and connection.
Supporting this initiative means standing behind two passionate individuals who have worked tirelessly to bring Rabaterapia to life. Their unique approach meets the rising demand for a space where immigrants can reconnect with their cultural roots, enjoy an energizing workout through dance, and rediscover a sense of belonging and purpose.
Our Vision

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT OUR JOURNEY...
Priscila Sanches
CEO | Head of Communications & strategy | Step Instructor
Growing up in the favelas of São Paulo, Brazil, I faced numerous challenges, but I was determined not to let my circumstances define my future. After moving to Canada, I created a YouTube channel to document my immigrant journey, which has since grown to over 125K subscribers and inspired many. I went on to complete a degree with a specialization in Communication Studies at Concordia University, where I deepened my passion for storytelling and community building.
Today, I’m proud to be a communications professional and co-founder of Rabaterapia. I lead our entire social media and brand strategy, ensuring our vibrant community stays connected and inspired. I’m also the instructor behind our Step Workout classes — bringing energy, joy, and a lot of sweat to each session.
