Our Pop Funk and Step Workout classes are all about letting loose, enjoying the music, and connecting with others in a fun and supportive environment. We know that the first class can be daunting, but with our friendly instructors and welcoming community, you’ll quickly feel at ease.

Step 1: Checking In

As you arrive at the studio, you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome. For newcomers, there’s a simple check-in process at the door where you’ll give your name. This is a great opportunity to introduce yourself and meet the instructor before the class begins. Don’t worry if you’re feeling a little nervous—everyone was new once, and our team is here to make your experience as smooth as possible.

Step 2: What to Bring and How to Prepare

To ensure you’re comfortable and ready to move, here’s a quick checklist of what to bring:

  • Comfortable clothing: Wear something that allows you to move freely. Whether it’s leggings, a t-shirt, or your favorite dance gear, comfort is key.
  • Water bottle: Staying hydrated is important, especially when you’re moving to the energetic beats of Brazilian Funk.
  • Towel: A small towel can be handy for personal use during breaks.

Each Rabaterapia class is one hour long, and it kicks off with a brief introduction by the instructor. They’ll give you a quick overview of the dance style for the day,whether it’s Pop Funk, Jazz Funk, or another exciting rhythm. For newcomers, this is also the time when the instructor will explain a bit about the studio and what you can expect during your time here.

After the introduction, the class moves into a warm-up session. This is designed to get your body ready for dancing, with stretches and light movements that prepare your muscles and joints for the more intense routines to come. The warm-up is also a great way to shake off any lingering nerves.

Step 4: Dancing Time!

Now, the real fun begins. The instructor will guide the class through a series of steps, gradually building up to a full routine. Don’t worry if you don’t get every step right away—our instructors are patient and will break down the moves so that everyone can follow along. Remember, the goal here is to have fun, not to be perfect.
